Please note these Extra Curricular Activities are for St Patrick's School students - Activities in the Community Centre and Local Area are for all residents.

Science, engineering and coding after school class: Science, engineering and coding (STEM) after school classes will commence on Tuesday the 10th of October to the 19th of December (excluding October 31st and November 21st). This class aims to support and excite children in developing key engineering skills while engaging in fun and challenging educational activities.

2:15-3:15- 2nd, 3rd and 4th class
Cost: €90 for a 9 week term (cost of materials included).

Lego Bricks STEM Challenge Program: This program offers children different levels of explorations of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) concepts by fostering creativity, critical thinking and enhancing their problem solvings skills through hands-on building. Children not only learn while having fun but also step into an exciting lifelong journey of scientific discovery and innovation.

Lego Bricks Challenge is an educational program which introduces basic subjects of classical mechanics and STEM concepts through the use of building blocks and mechanical parts. While learning these and other principles, the children are also introduced to important scientists and inventors in history, like Archimedes and Leonardo Da Vinci. We use their stories to inspire young minds. Children learn so many concepts while having fun in the classroom. (Limited places only) .

Friday - 1:10pm to 2:05pm (55minutes) (€140 for each term)Only for Senior Infants.
Friday - 2.10 pm to 3:25pm (75 minutes) (€155 for each term).

Knex STEM Challenge: (only for Junior/Senior Infants) Our Curriculum for Junior Infants embeds Science, Engineering and Math concepts in very exciting, hand-on activities from an early age. It delves into animal life cycles, mechanics of various vehicles, introduction to various polygons, the wonders of nature including desert fruits and pollination and foundational architectural concepts. It also covers the vastness of space alongside insights of bird migrations, the art of camouflage and sustainable wind energy. Concluding with dynamics of amusement park rides, the program promises a comprehensive and engaging learning experience about scientific and engineering concepts. (Limited places only) .

Table Tennis @ SPNS Table Tennis is being offered for children aged 6-13 years on Wednesday from September 13th after school in the School Hall at a cost of €145 ending on 20 December. Coach Tibor, former 4 times National Champion, former National Coach for Hungary, National coach Paralympics Ireland , currently coaches in Terenure College, BBNS, Coláiste Éanna, Castleknock CC, and several other schools locally and is keen to start up again in St. Patricks National School Diswellstown.

Sew With Friends Sewing sessions (hand sewing only) will begin every Thursday from 2:10pm - 3:10pm on 21st September. Places are limited. To show your interest please email sewwithfriendsd15@gmail.com and further information will be provided. Classes are open to children from 3rd - 6th class. No sewing experience necessary. Children will work on mini projects aimed to teach the basic skills in hand sewing.
COST: €130 for a 12 week term (cost of materials included).

Club Gaeilge for 5th & 6th Class Students The children will learn gaeilge in a fun and less formal environment. The children will gain confidence in their gaeilge skills as they revise various themes and grammar through lots of fun games. Our main focus is on oral language and enjoying gaeilge without the pressure of writing and spelling. Time & Day: Tuesdays 2.10-3pm Dates: 19th September - 24th October (6 Weeks).
Location: Blue Room 4- Meet Ms Donnelly at the Coolmine Door 3 and will exit from the same door.

School Choir The school choir will start back on the 29th September. It will be on Fridays after school from 2:10pm - 3:10pm. It is available for children from 3rd - 6th class. It is free of charge. If your child is interested in joining the school choir, please be sure to ask them to collect a form, for you to fill in, from Mrs. Corcoran in Blue Room 2. We look forward to singing together very soon!

 

Homework Club Homework club will begin Mid September, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 2.10 - 3.10 in Purple Room 4 (Ms Mc Tague's classroom) for 1st - 6th class students.

Action - Drama Classes with Ms. Walsh Classes are based on creative drama, with an emphasis on improving self-confidence & personal development through improvisations, movement, games, group work and fun! Ms. Walsh has over 20 years’ experience facilitating drama classes, a Degree in Speech and Drama Studies and MA in Drama.
