Application Forms will be available from the office from Thursday 01 October onwards. Registration will take place on 23, 24 and 25 November 2009.

Lisbon Treaty
The school will be closed on Friday 02 October for the Lisbon Treaty Referendum.

Dangerous Parking
We have been contacted by a number of concerned parents in relation to cars parking around the roundabout at the main junction of Carpenterstown Road, Diswellstown Road and the School Avenue. We would ask all parents to ensure they park safely at all times.

Tigers After School Care
There are six "One hour Club" spaces and three Full Time spaces currently available. For further information, please contact Tracey directly at 086 2253781.

European Day of Languages
European Day of Languages takes place on 26 September. See www.ecml.at/edl for information.

Rainbows
Rainbows is a peer support group for children from 1st to 6th class who have experienced a family bereavement or separation. Meetings for the support group will commence soon in St.Mochta's Pastoral Centre. A brief parents' information meeting will take place in the Pastoral Centre on Tuesday 6th October at 8pm. If you believe your child would benefit from this programme, please contact Andrea at reception and register to attend the information evening. More info available on www.rainbowsireland.com

Tracksuits/Uniforms
Before the summer break we informed you of the current situation regarding the purchase of school tracksuits and uniforms. We are now looking for some feedback regarding this. If you have experienced any service or quality issues please inform Paul Mason by 02 October using the P.A. contact box at Reception.

Guidelines for Homework
Junior & Senior Infants 5 - 10 minutes
(Informal homework such as Paired Reading Scheme, sight words, reading review)
First Class 15 - 20 minutes Second Class 20 - 30 minutes
Third & Fourth Class 30 - 40 minutes Fifth & Sixth Class 40 - 60 minutes
If your child is having consistent difficulty with homework and is spending well in excess of the recommended time completing it, please speak with the Class Teacher.

Extra Curricular Activities
Junior Food & Cookery School
10 week course will include Practical Classes, Food/Kitchen Safety, Food Hygiene, Healthy Eating Guidelines and Nutrition. Classes will be taught by fully qualified Home Economics Teacher, with 23 years experience teaching cookery at Primary/Post Primary to Leaving Cert level. Soccer Training
Soccer training starts again on Monday after school for members of the boys' soccer team from last year only. Any girls from 4th, 5th or 6th class who want to play in a girls' soccer team, please turn up for registration. Please line up on line number 5 outside the Diswellstown door after school. Training is for 1 hour, 2.10 - 3.10pm.

Badminton/Tennis/Volleyball
All children who have secured places in Badminton, Tennis and Volleyball have been informed.
Badminton Coaching is starting today from 2.10pm - 3.10pm.
Tennis Coaching commences on Tuesday 29 September from 3.15pm - 4.00pm.
