Halloween Mid-Term Break
The school will close from 26 October to 30 October inclusive for the mid-term break. It will reopen at 08.30am on Monday 02 November.
Wishing you a safe and Happy Halloween.

Sick Children at School
As per page 19 of the School Booklet: "Please do not send sick children to school for the following reasons:

  • They are unable to cope with the demands of school when they are unwell.
  • All break-time supervision is concentrated entirely on the yard for safety reasons.
  • Infection spreads rapidly in the confinement of the classroom."

It is not necessary to telephone the school if your child is sick. Absence due to a minor illness should be advised in writing to the class teacher on your child's return, either by a note or in his/her homework journal.

The school should be informed however when there is an outbreak of certain contagious infections. Your G.P. will be able to advise you in this regard.

Access to Classrooms After Hours
With the exception of those attending Extra Curricular Activities, children are not permitted to re-enter the classroom after 2.10pm. If in an absolute emergency (forgotten books and general belongings is not an emergency!) a child needs to gain access to his/her classroom outside school hours, the following procedure must be followed:

  • He/She must speak to either Brendan or Graham who will accompany him/her to the classroom.
  • An adult must also accompany the child.

All school personnel have been made aware of this procedure and have been asked to ensure it is followed. This procedure has been put in place to prevent further loss or damage to school property.

Family Quiz
Thank you to all who came along last Sunday to our 2nd Family Quiz - both return contestants and new families. It was a great success and congratulations to all who won spot prizes on the day. The Kearney Family turned up in force to defend their title and at the end of a nail-biting tie-breaker; they won out for a second time. In second place was a new family to the school, the Corby's and in third - the Byrne's - congratulations to both families. The Mobile Phone was won in the draw by Eoin/Connie McCambridge - congrats to them.

Photographs
Due to the large uptake for photographs with the new school photographer, we have needed longer than anticipated to take the individual/sibling photos. Some class photographs were taken on Thursday. The remaining class photographs will be taken on the first day back after the mid-term - 2nd November. Please ensure your child wears their school uniform on that day, if their class photo has not yet been taken. Thank you for your patience.
