GAA Finals
Matches will take place on Tuesday. They are due to start around 1.30pm in Tir na nÓg park. Many thanks to all of our teachers in the local schools, the Transition Year students from CCC and especially Brendan Phelan (CHFC) for helping to organise the tournament for the children.

Dublin 15 Primary Schools Cross-Country League
We will be sending our Cross Country team to Porterstown Playing Fields (weather permitting) for the next set of races on Tuesday 17 November. The format for the day will be the same as the last time when the children took part. Please note that spectators/supporters are welcome to attend on the day.

Access to Classrooms After Hours
With the exception of those attending Extra Curricular Activities, children are not permitted to re-enter the classroom after school hours. If in an absolute emergency (forgotten books and general belongings is not an emergency!) a child needs to gain access to his/her classroom outside school hours, the following procedure must be followed:

  • He/She must speak to either Brendan or Graham who will accompany him/her to the classroom.
  • An adult must also accompany the child.

All school personnel have been made aware of this procedure and have been asked to ensure it is followed. This procedure has been put in place to prevent further loss or damage to school property.

Sick Children at School
As per page 19 of the School Booklet: "Please do not send sick children to school for the following reasons:

  • They are unable to cope with the demands of school when they are unwell.
  • All break-time supervision is concentrated entirely on the yard for safety reasons.
  • Infection spreads rapidly in the confinement of the classroom."

It is not necessary to telephone the school if your child is sick. Absence due to a minor illness should be advised in writing to the class teacher on your child's return, either by a note or in his/her homework journal.

The school should be informed however when there is an outbreak of certain contagious infections. Your G.P. will be able to advise you in this regard.

Science in School
Parents are invited to view the science work of 4th & 5th Class on Thursday 12
November between 1.00pm and 2.00pm. This work is part of the children's endeavour to procure a third Discover Primary Science Award. So come along to see some of the exciting experiments that have been taking place in our school!

Collections during Break time
If you need to collect your child during the school day, please do not do so during playtime (10.20-10.30am and 12.00-12.30pm) as children must be signed out through the main office before leaving the premises. Your cooperation in this matter would be very much appreciated.

Christmas Fair
Volunteers are URGENTLY needed for the Christmas Fair which is due to take place on Sunday, 29 November. The fair cannot be staged without your time and support. Even an hours help would be greatly appreciated. Contact Marie on 087 9935551 or Karen on 087 4187253 or email stpatricksnspa@gmail.com if you think you can help.

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Tuesday 10 November to Friday 13 November. Feel free to call in at dropping off (08.30am-9.001m) and collection times (1.00 - 2.30pm) to browse through the selection available. This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping! The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help to stock the school library. A limited number of leaflets are available from beside the Parent Information Notice Board. From last year's experience, may we please ask that you enter only via the main entrance and exit only via the Blanchardstown Door? This will ensure a smooth flow of people through the Book Fair area which is quite tight.

Photographs
You will have received the proofs of your child/children's photographs this week. Please complete the order form and return it in the envelope provided, by Monday 9th November. Late orders will not be accepted.
