Coffee Morning in Aid of the Pakistan Flood Relief Fund
A Coffee Morning is being organised in the school on Monday, 11th October from 10.30am - 11.45am.  It will take place in the School Hall and all are very welcome to attend before collecting their children at 12noon (Staff Meeting Day). You can make whatever donation you wish and enjoy a cuppa.  We would welcome donations of cakes/buns/scones, etc at the school at drop-off time at 8.30am on the morning or any time up to 10.30am - they will be served with your cup of coffee/tea.  We look forward to your support for this very worthwhile cause - come along and enjoy the cuppa and a chat.  If you are unable to attend the Coffee Morning and would like to contribute to the event, please send in your donation in an envelope marked 'Pakistan Flood Relief Fund' with your child.  Many thanks for your support.

School Photographs
Our school photographer, Richie Gavin will be in the school on the 12th, 13th and 14th October.  All children are asked to wear full school uniform on these days as Class Group Photographs will also be taken.  If your child/children have PE, they should wear runners with their uniform. NO TRACKSUITS PLEASE.

Whole School Planning Day
Please note that there will be a School Planning Day for Teachers on Monday 01 November.  The school will therefore be closed to children.  This is a change to the School Calendar which was sent with your child’s school report during the summer.  Please note that children will have school on 08 December 2010.

Contribution towards Curriculum Expenses (Extras Fee)
The contribution for the 2010/2011 School Year has remained the same as the last number of years, €75 for Junior Infants and €68 for Senior Infants to Sixth Class pupils.  An envelope was given to the eldest child in each family earlier this week.  If you did not receive your envelope or if it is mislaid or damaged, a replacement is available for collection at Reception. As there are approx 740 pupils in the school, we ask that you return your fee in the envelope provided only to assist in the tracking of payments.  Cheques/Postal Orders/Bank Drafts should be made out to “St Patrick’s N.S.”  We would like to thank you for your generosity in the past and look forward to your continuing support in the future.  The majority of Junior Infant parents have already paid this fee on Acceptance of their Offer last January.

Lost Property
Any property not claimed from the Lost Property Press by Friday 22 October will be donated to Saint Vincent de Paul.  If your child is missing any items, please take a look in the Lost Property Press, inside the Blanchardstown door, at pick-up time.

Staff Car Park
For safety reasons, only staff cars are allowed into the car park during school hours.  The safest available parking is in The Carpenter/Spar car park.  The School Wardens (Lollilop Ladies) will help you/your children to cross the road safely.  If you are returning to the school to drop off forgotten lunches, schoolbags, etc., we would ask that you park in the bus stop area and enter via the Pedestrian Gate. (Please close gates after you leave). Thank you for your cooperation.

Scooters
Congratulations to all the children who are dismounting at the outside gates and walking their bikes/scooters into the school grounds.  Can we request that children with “Flickr” scooters are particularly careful when walking their scooters down the pathway.

Stay Safe Programme Presentation
The National Parents Council Primary North West Branch is holding it’s AGM in our school on Wednesday, 13th at 8pm - 9.30pm.  In conjunction with this there will be a presentation on the Stay Safe Programme, by Barbara O'Neill, who works with the Stay Safe Programme and gives talks in schools and to community groups (many of you will know Barbara from her involvement in the Castleknock Hurling and Football Club). See notice on Parent Information Notice board in reception for further information.

Parents Association Questionnaire
The PA Committee would like to express a big thank you to all the parents who participated in the parent survey. We have received 106 completed questionnaires and have compiled all the answers into a comprehensive report which can be accessed through the PA section of the School website www.stpatricksns.ie or on the Parent Information Notice board. This valuable feedback will help support the PA Committee's agenda this year and we look forward to reporting on progress via the newsletter. We are also delighted to announce that the winners of the draw for three vouchers for the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre are: Josephine Reilly, Teresa O'Neill and Simon Murtagh.

4th Class Soccer Tournament
“On Monday, we went to Corduff Sports Centre.  We played eight matches.  We won six matches and drew two matches.  We played lots of different schools.  We made it to the final against St Brigid’s.  The match went down to penalty shootouts.  Stephen Mason save a spectacular shot in the penalty shootout and Lewis Kilkenny scored the winning penalty.  We won a former World Cup and St Patrick’s School is allowed to keep it forever!” David O and Vilius – 4th Class
