St Patrick’s Day
The school will close on Thursday 17 March for St Patrick’s Day. Please note that the school will reopen on Friday 18 March.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We will be celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge in school next week (14-18 March). As in previous years, the children will partake in a variety of activities – music, dance, drama, artwork, etc. We expect to hear lots of Gaeilge being spoken in the school environment. Most of all, we hope everyone will have plenty of “sport agus spraoi”. Perhaps you could use a “cupla focal” at home too!
Bekind Ireland
Bekind Ireland, a local charity, will be selling living shamrocks outside the school on Monday 14th March to raise money in aid of the street children of Calcutta and its other projects in India and to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. This campaign is part of series of fundraisers with Castleknock Community College (CCC) with whom we have a strong connection. 12 students from CCC will travel with Bekind to India in April to do volunteer work. The shamrocks are priced at just €3 for one or two for €5 and all proceeds go to Bekind Ireland and its projects. If you plan to buy shamrock, perhaps you would consider supporting the cause. For more information, please see Bekind's website- www.bekind.ie.
Schools Database
We are updating our school database and would like to include photos of the children. Please email info@stpatricksns.ie if you do not wish your child’s photo to be included.
Parents Holy Communion Meeting
The next Parents Preparation Meeting for First Holy Communion will take place in St Mochta’s Parish Centre on Tuesday 15th March 2011 at 8pm. The meeting will give you, as parents, a deeper understanding of the Sacrament of Penance & Reconciliation so you can help prepare your child to receive the Sacrament at the end of March. At least one parent should attend this meeting. If you cannot attend please contact the Parish office at (01) 8213218.
Trócaire Boxes
We have distributed all the Trócaire boxes that were delivered to the school. If you do not yet have a Trócaire box, you may collect one from St Mochta’s Parish Church or any Church in the locality.
