Mobile Phones
Unless it is absolutely necessary, children should not bring mobile phones to school. For those who need to bring a phone, it must be turned off and left in the child’s school bag. If the phone is seen or heard anywhere on school grounds, it will be taken off the child and parents will have to collect the phone from the school office.
Confirmation Service of Light
On Thursday evening 7th April St Patrick’s NS candidates will celebrate the Service of Light in St Mochta’s Church at 7pm. Family members are welcome to attend. Please note, the next Parents Preparation Meeting will be held on 12th May, 2011 in St Mochta’s School Hall at 8pm. Bishop Field will be attending to meet with Candidates.
Castleknock College (Boys)
Castleknock College are holding an Open Evening on Tuesday 12 April from 7.00 – 9.00pm in the College for all parents and boys (especially those who are in 5th Class are present). More information is available on www.castleknockcollege.ie.
“Jedward” and Jack and Jill Mobile Phone Collection!!
Our school is continuing to collect mobile phones in any condition. As well as helping the environment, the collected phones can be used by the school to get useful IT equipment. “Jedward” have recently teamed up with Jack & Jill and will visit the school which collects the most mobile phones.

Rugby Blitz
“On Tuesday the 29th of March, some boys and girls of 5th and 6th class went to Westmanstown to play a rugby blitz against Ladyswell. We all played well and had great fun!” Sarah & Diarmuid 5th Class
World Youth Day Fundraising Table Quiz
St. Mochta’s Parish have six young adults who are preparing to attend World Youth Day in August in Madrid this year. World Youth Day is an opportunity for our young people to join a group from the Dublin Diocese to travel and meet with young people from all over the world to share their faith. To cover the costs, a WYD Fund raising group are holding a Table Quiz on Monday 11th April at 8pm in Castleknock Golf Club (entrance beside Hotel). Cost is €10 per person - 4 per team. It promises to be a fantastic night, so why not get a team together with friends or neighbours and enjoy the chat and fun. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Lost Property
Any property not claimed from the Lost Property press by Friday 15 April will be donated to St Vincent de Paul. If your child is missing any items, please take a look in the Lost Property press, inside the Blanchardstown door, at pick-up time.
Sponsored Walk
The upcoming Sponsored Walk will take place on Thursday 07 April during school hours. All Sponsorship money should be returned to your child’s class teacher on or before 15 April. Thank you for your continued support.
Update on the Secondary Schools Admissions Policy
On Tuesday evening (29th March), representatives from the PA Committee attended an information session presented by the VEC on the proposed joint admissions policy between CCC and LCC. It was a lively session with representatives from all of the local primary schools attending. The PA Committee raised an issue with regard to the policy in relation to a number of St. Patrick's pupils in 3rd & 4th class, which the VEC have committed to review. As further information becomes available we will update you. A copy of the proposed admissions policy is available on the LCC website.
CHFC Nursery – Saturday 02 April
The Nursery will take place in Somerton tomorrow and not Tir na nÓg.
St Patrick’s N.S. Easter Camp 2011
Enrolment for St Patricks Easter camp 2011 is underway. This year the children will be taking part in cooking, sports and art activities with Ms Meade, Mr MacConámha, and Mr Monaghan. The camp will be for 4 days from Monday 18th of April to Thursday 21st of April inclusive. The price of the camp costs €65 with a 10% discount for siblings. Art and Craft Workshops
