on Friday 25 November.

Enrolment Ceremony for Confirmation
Our Enrolment Ceremony will be taking place next Thursday 24th November at 7pm for the children of St. Patrick’s N.S.  The Candidates will be enrolled on our Parish programme for preparation and parents should attend this ceremony with their children. This is the start of our Preparation Programme for your child to receive the Sacrament of Penance and First Holy Communion.

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Wednesday 30 November to Monday 05 December.  Feel free to call in at dropping off (08.30am-9.00am) and collection times (1.00pm – 2.30pm) to browse through the selection available.  This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping!  The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help stock the school library.  A limited number of leaflets are available from beside the Parent Information Notice Board.  From previous year’s experience, may we please ask that you Enter only via the Main Entrance and Exit only via the Blanchardstown Door?  This will ensure a smooth flow of people through the Book Fair area which is quite tight.

World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
An inter-denominational ceremony for World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims will be held  in  St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Laurel Lodge, Castleknock, Dublin 15 commencing at 2pm on Sunday the 20th November. All are invited to attend.  Those who have lost loved ones are invited to bring along a photograph to place on the altar. This service is being organised by PARC road safety group, supported by the Road Safety Authority and An Garda Siochana.  Our website is www.parcroadsafety.org for further information.

Dropping in lunches, bags, homework etc.
It would be greatly appreciated that if you are dropping in any of your child’s forgotten belongings e.g. lunches, bags, homework, etc., that they are clearly marked with your child’s name and their class teacher.

Folens Christmas Annuals
Folens Christmas Annuals, priced at €4 each, are now available through the school. Sugradh is suitable for Junior & Senior Infants; Spraoi – 1st & 2nd Class; Siamsa – 4th & 5th Class and Sonas – 5th & 6th Class. Order forms are beside the Parent Information Notice Board.  Orders with payment will be taken in the main office up to Wednesday 07 December.  To ensure prompt delivery, orders will be placed with Folens on Wednesday 07 December. As a result, no late orders can be accepted.

Educate.ie Christmas Annuals
Educate.ie Christmas Annuals are also for sale priced at €4. Carnival is suitable for Junior & Senior Infants and Fairground is suitable for 1st & 2nd Class children. Order forms are beside the Parent Information Notice Board. Orders with payment will be taken in the main office up to Wednesday 07 December.  To ensure prompt delivery, orders will be placed with educate.ie on Wednesday 07 December. As a result, no late orders can be accepted.

Christmas Fair Raffle
Every child in the school have received a book of tickets this week. Parents/guardians are under no obligation to buy these tickets. Please return counterfoils and money or unsold tickets to the class teacher as soon as possible.  Tickets are €2 each or €10 for a book of 6 tickets.  Good luck in the draw and Thank You!

Christmas Cards & Calendars
This year the children have produced beautiful drawings for our new Christmas Cards.  There will be one card type per class which will include drawings from all the children.   These cards will be for sale on the day of the fair only.  We have pre-ordered a limited supply of cards & calendars this year and they will be sold at the fair on a first come, first served basis. We will not be taking orders for cards & calendars this year.

Donating items for the Christmas Fair
Due to demand, we have allocated some extra evening slots for dropping off donations for the Christmas Fair.  These will replace the advertised daytime collections. The new times are Monday – Thursday evenings 7pm – 8pm.  Thanks to all of you who have generously donated items to date. We are delighted to receive donations of Books, unwanted gifts, DVD’s, Computer Games, Toys in good working order and of course Bottles of Wine, Spirits etc for the Bottle Stall.

Final preparations for the Christmas Fair
We have a wonderful day lined up on the 27th for all the family to enjoy.  The Christmas Fair is open to all members of your family and to the wider community.  Please feel free to bring along Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles etc to have a browse at the stalls and to enjoy some festive entertainment.  Our very popular Cafe will return this year and there will be a few new additions to the fair.  We have an absolutely fantastic selection of prizes lined up for the Wheel of Fortune, a Festive Craft Stall and lots to keep the Children entertained.  Santa will be visiting the school and is returning to his cosy grotto again this year; he has mentioned that he is looking forward to meeting all of the St Patricks children again this year.
We still need volunteers to help out on both the day of the fair and with the set-up.  So if you have any time free to help us out please do get in touch 086 3845931 or 087 4187253. We on the Christmas Fair Committee really can’t do it all without the wonderful support that we receive from the parent body.

Extra Curricular Activities

Heineken Cup at Westmanstown
To mark the first home matches for Garda RFC mini section The Heineken Cup will be present at Westmanstown Sports Grounds on 19th November from 1.00p.m.Children will be permitted to have their photograph taken with the trophy and have an opportunity to cheer on Garda senior team against Skerries later in the afternoon. All pupils are welcome.
