Sick Children in School
We would ask that you do not send sick children to school for the following reasons:

  • Children are unable to cope with the demands of school when they are unwell.
  • Infection spreads rapidly in the confinement of the classroom.
  • There is no indoor supervision for sick children during breaktimes.

Payments
As there are now approx 770 children in the school, the volume of payments has greatly increased. We therefore request that, if you are sending payments into the school for any reason e.g. Extras Fees, Photographs, Tours, Extra Curricular Activities, Christmas Annuals, etc, etc, that you please write your Child/Children’s Name(s), the reason for payment and their Class Teacher(s) on each envelope

Dropping in lunches, bags, homework etc.
It would be greatly appreciated that if you are dropping in any of your child’s forgotten belongings e.g. lunches, bags, homework, etc., that they are clearly marked with your child’s name and their class teacher

School Dental Service for 6th Class
All children in 6th Class were given a form for HSE Dental Service this week.  Only children who return their completed form to the school by Tuesday 29 November will be contacted by Roselawn Dental Clinic and given an appointment.  If you do not return your form by this date, you will need to contact the Dental Clinic at Roselawn Health Centre directly at 6464550.

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Wednesday 30 November to Monday 05 December.  Feel free to call in at dropping off (08.30am-9.00am) and collection times (1.00pm – 2.30pm) to browse through the selection available.  This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping!  The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help stock the school library.  A limited number of leaflets are available from beside the Parent Information Notice Board.
From previous year’s experience, may we please ask that you Enter only via the Main Entrance and Exit only via the Blanchardstown Door?  This will ensure a smooth flow of people through the Book Fair area which is quite tight.

Donore Schools Athletic Cup 2011
“On Wednesday, 16 children from our school went to Donore Harriers Running Club.  There were many events and many schools competing. Everyone won a medal and the school won overall.  We all had great fun. We would like to thank all the teachers and parents who came to support us.” Molly, Sarah & Shannon – 5th Class

CHFC Dublin Minor A Team
Congratulations to CHFC Dublin Minor A Football Champions who clinched the title on Tuesday in Parnell Park after victory over a gallant Ballyboden side. This is a major achievement and great credit must go to all involved.

We have everything in place for the Christmas Fair on Sunday all we need now is YOU!
Please come along, bring your friends & family for what promises to be a most enjoyable day.  If you are a baker do bring something for our Café and don’t forget to enter the cupcake competition. We have Santa visiting on Sunday, face painters, beautiful Christmas crafts, games and even a Nail Bar!

We have an amazing array of prizes which can be won on the Wheel of Fortune this year.  They include a Dublin jersey signed by the Dublin Team, Hotel Accommodation, Gym Membership, Restaurant vouchers, Beauty vouchers, Toys, Mobile phones and lots of shopping vouchers.  This year the local business community has been most supportive of our school fair – we will have a full list of sponsors displayed at the fair and would sincerely ask all parents, where possible, to support these businesses who in tough times have contributed to the Christmas Fair.

Don’t forget that this year our beautiful new Christmas Cards and our class calendars are only available for sale on a 1st come 1st served basis on Sunday. Our always popular Book stall will return again as will the every popular Bottle Stall!  This year we will even have a Crepe stall where you can enjoy tasty crepes while you browse the fair.  Add to this the wonderful accompaniment of the St Patricks children singing festive favourites in the school choir and I’m sure you will agree we have the ingredients for a truly fantastic day.

Please come along and support your school fair on Sunday - we look forward to seeing you there!
