The school will be closed this Thursday 16 and Friday 17 February for Mid-Term Break. It will reopen on Monday 20 February at 08.30am.
Absences due to illness
Whilst there is no need to telephone the school if your child is sick, we would greatly appreciate if you would contact us if your child contracts a contagious illness e.g. measles, mumps, rubella, etc. There are children in the school who are at increased risk of contracting these illnesses. Parents must acknowledge their child’s absence from school due to minor illnesses on their return, in writing, in the child’s School Journal or via a note to their child’s class teacher.
Safety
If your child is allowed to walk to/from school, it is important to remind him/her regularly of the importance of never talking to or approaching strangers/cars and of walking in pairs/groups rather than alone.
Extra Curricular Activities
French for Children @ St. Patrick’s
6th class pupils: finish Primary in French style! Some places available Thursdays @ 16.00 or on Saturday 11.45: enhance your learning with your school friends through fun activities (French hangman, bingo, French maths...). A few places left for Junior Infants up to 4th Class Thursday or Saturday mornings. Places in Early Years & Parents Sat. 12.35 class too (3-5 years). Try a class and see! Spanish for Children (La Jolie Ronde)
Fab after-school courses! Great teacher (just ask children themselves)! Very few places left this term (11 weeks left until end of May). Hurry, join now (3 - 13 yr olds) or enroll today & guarantee your place for next September. A good level of Spanish will give your child a headstart & help them secure Spanish as a subject in Secondary. I’ll happily form a 6th class beginners class & teach a 16 week course starting next week, if I can get a group of 10 to enrol by 17th Feb!
