Friday Choir
Friday Choir will have its last practice this week. Thank you to all the children who have taken part, it has been great fun each week. I hope to see you all back next September. Ms G Meade.
Books for September 2012
It is our intention to expand our free school book scheme from September 2012. Currently the children have access to History, Geography, Science, SPHE or Music books in the classroom. Next year’s booklists will not include English Readers, Irish or Religion textbooks. This will be funded from school funds, PA funds and Extra Payments monies. Please note there will be no increase in the Extra Payments Fee. Each child will have access to the required books for these subjects at school and for homework. In the last week of term, we will buy back second hand copies of Bun go Barr, English Readers and Alive O Textbooks. We are also delighted to accept donated copies. Please expect a letter early next week with further details.
Junior SFAD (Sport for All Day) Sen Infants - 2nd Class
This will take place on Friday 15th June. Children should wear their school tracksuit (shorts are permitted in the event of fine weather). An extra drink is also recommended for the day.
Junior Infant Sport for All Day
This will take place on Wednesday 20 June (weather permitting). Children should wear their school tracksuit (shorts are permitted in the event of fine weather). An extra drink is also recommended for the day. Further details will be provided by class teachers.
6th Class Graduation
The 6th Class Graduation Ceremony will take place on Tuesday 26 June at 7.30pm. Further details will issue from 6th Class Teachers in due course.
Moving House?
If you are moving house or emigrating and your child will not be returning to St Patrick’s in the new school year, it is vital that you make contact with the class teacher or the Main Office as soon as possible as it will be necessary for you to complete a Transfer Form. We have a number of children on waiting lists for all classes and we would like to be able to contact these parents as soon as possible.
Contact Details
It is essential that we have the correct address and contact details (e.g. home telephone, parents’ mobile numbers) for your child on our database in order for you to receive your child/children’s school reports, end of year letters, etc or to make contact with you if your child should fall ill during the school day. If any of your details have changed since the beginning of the school year, please complete a Change of Address/Contact Details Form, available from the office.
Extra Curricular Activities
Basketball 2nd & 3rd Class
The children in the 2nd and 3rd class basketball club will have an extra session on the Wednesday 13th of June to make up for the missed session. The club will have its last session on Tuesday 19th of June.
French for Children @ St. Patrick’s
La Jolie Ronde French summer camp (09th to 13th July, 10.00 to 12.30) is filling up steadily especially for the younger age group (4 to 7 yrs) so if you want to secure a place for this week of French fun for your children please contact me soon. Suitable for absolute beginners and ideal to try before committing to a term of French classes in September.
