Green Schools
Here at St. Patrick's N.S. are currently looking for our 3rd Green School's flag and this one is for water. By working hard together both in school and at home we were able to get the 2 flags before which were for recycling and energy. We intend to include a useful water saving tip/slogan in our weekly newsletter to help conserve water at home.
For some fun games and a chance to do a water audit at home log onto: www.wateruseitwisely.com/kids
This week's water saving tip is: Collect the water you use when rinsing fruit and vegetables and use it for watering house plants instead.

Junior Infants will start on Monday September 2nd. Please note they will finish at 11.30 for the first two weeks.
Absences due to illness
Whilst there is no need to telephone the school if your child is sick, we would greatly appreciate if you would contact us if your child contracts a contagious illness e.g. measles, mumps, rubella, etc. There are children in the school who are at increased risk of contracting these illnesses. Parents must acknowledge their child’s absence from school, in writing, at the back of the child’s School Journal (Education Welfare Act). Parents of Infants children should speak to the teacher at the class line on the morning of their return.
Dogs in School Yard
Following concerns raised by some parents, we would ask that you discourage any child from petting your dog. Under no circumstances should dogs be brought onto school grounds nor should they be tied up and left unattended.
Contact Details
It is essential that we have the correct address and contact details (e.g. home telephone, parents’ mobile numbers) for your child on our database in order for you to receive your child/children’s school reports, end of year letters, etc or to make contact with you if your child should fall ill during the school day. If any of your details have changed since the beginning of the school year, please complete a Change of Address/Contact Details Form, available from the office.
