A huge Congratulations to our boys team who won the Cumann na mBunscoil Final in Croke Park on Tuesday.  They did themselves and the school proud!

International Gymnastics Competition
Congratulations to Ange Mputu in 5th class who took part in an International Gymnastics competition in London over the Mid-Term Break.  He came first in a number of competitions. Well done Ange!

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Wednesday 06 November to Monday 11 November.  Feel free to call in at dropping off (08.30am-9.00am) and collection times (1.00pm – 2.30pm) to browse through the selection available.  This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping!  The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help stock the school library.  A limited number of leaflets are available from beside the Parent Information Notice Board.  From previous year’s experience, may we please ask that you Enter only via the Main Entrance and Exit only via the Blanchardstown Door?  This will ensure a smooth flow of people through the Book Fair area which is quite tight.

Parent/Teacher Meetings
Parent/Teacher Meetings will take place on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 November. Family Appointment sheets will be distributed week commencing 11 November. Individual appointment details will be written into your child’s school journal.

Choir Dates for Your Diary
The choir will perform for Christmas at the School Christmas Fair (time to be confirmed) on Sunday 1st December.

I am very excited to let you know that Friday Choir and Choral Scholars will perform at the Dublin Docklands Christmas Festival on Saturday 14th December from 3-4pm. Further details to follow.  Ms Meade.

Fingal Cross Country League
The next meeting takes place (weather permitting) at Porterstown Fields on Tuesday 12 November. All runners should wear school running kit under their school tracksuit and suitable footwear. Please make sure your child has a warm coat and an extra drink. First race begins 11.30 sharp! All support welcome!

Reminders

Procedure for Entering the School Building each Morning
To ensure safe and orderly access to the school grounds, the gates will open a few minutes before 8.30am. Parents and children walking to school should use the Pedestrian Entrance. No Cycling, Scootering or Rollerblading is permitted on school grounds. Children must go to their class line up area and remain there until the school bell rings at 08.30am. Classes are collected from the yard by their teacher and entry doors are then closed. In the early weeks of Junior Infants, parents may accompany children to the classroom.

Children may not enter the school building until 08.30am.

Parents are responsible for the welfare of their children until the school’s duty of care begins at 8.30am. On wet mornings, please time your arrival for 8.30 – 8.40am.

To minimise heat loss and for the safety and security of all the pupils, children who arrive late for line-up in the morning should access the school as follows:

  • 2nd – 6th Class children will enter via the Diswellstown (Tigers) Door only.
  • Junior Infants – 1st Class children will enter via the Carpenterstown Door only.
  • Children who arrive after 8.50am must enter via the main school entrance and sign the Sign-In Book.
