Happy World Book Day
Thursday 6th of March is World Book Day. Well done to those who entered our photo competition. Winners will be announced shortly! Every child in the school will receive a €1.50 voucher which can be used in full payment for any special World book day title (see www.worldbookday.com or poster at reception) or in part payment against any book. If you would like to find ideas for books for your child, a very useful 'Parents Bookfinder' is available at www.worldbookday.com

Seachtain na Gaeilge
Tá Seachtain na Gaeilge buailte linn aris. We are having lots of fun activities to promote Gaeilge in the school next week. Most of all, we hope everyone will have plenty of “spórt agus spraoi” as Gaeilge. Perhaps you could use a “cúpla focal” at home too!
The following activities are taking place in the locality and may be of interest to you:
- Irish coffee morning every Tuesday in March at 11AM
- Celtic Art Workshop, Monday 17th March, 11 - 2PM
Mórshiúl
We will be having a Mórshiúl for the children during the school day on Friday 14 March. Children may wear a green top or t-shirt with their school tracksuit bottoms if they wish.
C.O.W. (Cycle Or Walk)
Join our C.O.W campaign which kicks off next Wednesday12th March. Children and staff are encouraged to Cycle Or Walk to and from school on this day and in the coming days as the weather gets better and the mornings brighter. Children or staff may also scoot if they prefer!! For those living further afield, why not take part in a park and stride option and leave the car in the car park at the shops and walk the rest of the way! Please feel free to take photos of your children participating in the day for inclusion on our Green Schools Notice Board.

“Knock-out Trials” for School Santry Team – Cumann na mBunscol Athletics Championships
The children who have made it onto the shortlists have been informed. Final selection will be made from these lists. It should be noted that selection is based on a number of points – athletic ability, team spirit, reliability, sportsmanship, etc. The remainder of the “Knock-out Trials” will be held after school. Those who make it onto the shortlists must attend if they want to be considered for the team. Those selected for the team must be available for the championships (held at Morton Stadium in Santry) the last week in May and/or first week in June. Please note the following schedule:
Friday 7th March U10 Boys from 2.15 - 3.00
Friday 14th March U10 Girls from 2.15 - 3.00
Friday 21st March U12 Boys from 2.15 - 3.00
Friday 28th March U12 Girls from 2.15 - 3.00
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: All trials take place outdoors and are weather permitting. Trials may have to be cancelled at short notice if the ground is too wet. Please discuss pick-up/collection arrangements with your child. Children should line up in yard outside Diswellstown Door at 2.15 where they will be met by teacher. Also note that more dates/times will be added in order to prepare for the event. Children will be informed at school of any further arrangements and notices will appear in Newsletters.
D15 Cross Country League
Please note that the Grand Finals of the Dublin 15 League will be held at Morton Stadium, Santry on Tuesday 8th April. All supporters welcome.
Jack & Jill Foundation – Mobile Phone Collection
If you or a family member got a new phone recently, perhaps you would consider donating the old phone to the Jack & Jill Foundation Mobile Phone Collection. We have a collection box in the main office. Funds raised by the collection of Mobile Phones go a long way towards looking after very sick babies in their own homes. St. Mochta’s Parish Mission 2014
The Parish are holding a mission led by St. Patrick’s Community in the parish from Sunday 9th March to Sunday 16th March. This is a great opportunity for new life in our parish, so do avail of this great opportunity to renew and strengthen your faith, hope and love in God and your neighbour. Each day there will be Mass at 10am with the main Mission Service taking place at 7.30pm each evening. More details on our Parish Website.

Thank you to everyone who has paid their Extras Fee for the 2013/2014 School Year. If you have paid online, please remember that you should send a copy of the receipt to your eldest child’s teacher. This will ensure that you are marked off as paid on our database. If you have not yet paid the fee (€65 per child), it can be paid by cash (exact amount please), cheque (made out to “St Patrick’s N.S.”) or online through our website, www.stpatricksns.ie . Payment can also be made in instalments. Please contact the office or email assistance@stpatricksns.ie . All payments for the 2013/2014 year must be paid before Pupil Re-Registration for the 2014/2015 academic school year. This will take place in April.
