Week Ending 22 June 2007Summer Holidays
The school closes for Summer Holidays on Friday 29 June at 11.30am. The school will reopen for Senior Infants to Fifth Class on Thursday 30 August and for new Junior Infants on Friday 31 August.
Green Flag
The coveted Green Flag is ours at last! A flag raising ceremony took place on Wednesday 20 June attended by the Lord Mayor of Fingal. It was a wonderful school occasion. Well done to the whole school community, to the Green Schools Committee and, in particular, to Mrs Soulsby.
All Ireland Féile Champions
Congratulations to the U14 Castleknock Hurling Team who won the All Ireland Féile Championship at the weekend. Thanks to the members of the team who brought the trophy to the school on Thursday.
Parent Volunteers
A huge thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help during this school year. Some of the projects included library, tea/coffee for class meetings, milk money, counting tokens, book fair, Fingal Artist in Residency, reception for Holy Communion classes, Intercultural Committee and Healthy Eating Committee. A list seeking parent volunteers for the school year 2007-2008 will be posted on the Parent Information Notice Board in September.
Diswellstown Junior Summer Camp
Diswellstown Junior Summer Camp is now full. All children enrolled should have received a letter with details of times etc. Please contact Emer Threadgold for further information.
There are limited places available in the Senior Camp (2nd to 4th) Please contact Geraldine Meade for further information.
Both Camps start on Monday 02 July at 9.00am.
Artist in Residency Scheme 2007
Ms Nolan's 3rd Class have been participating in "The Artist in Residency Scheme 2007" facilitated by Fingal County Council. They have completed two murals on the boundary wall. Their work will also be part of an exhibition running in Blanchardstown Library from Monday 25 - Friday 29 June 2007. Congratulations to all children who took part in the project.
Mini Marathon
Orla Crossen completed the Mini Marathon on Monday 04 June 2007 and has the medal to prove it! Please contact Orla with your sponsorship money or drop it into the Office before Friday 29 June. Thank you for your support.
School Books Order
No further orders will be accepted, as Friday 22 June was our closing date for receipt of orders. Should you wish to purchase schoolbooks yourself, they are available from Roselawn Bookshop (under management of The Wise Owl Bookshop for the summer) and from Borders and Easons in the Blanchardstown Centre.
