New Payment System (Elavon)
We have a New Payment System here in St Patrick's and we therefore no longer wish to accept cash. This new method allows parents to pay through a very secure system, using your ATM/Debit/Credit card. It will cancel out the need for writing cheques and sourcing exact amounts for payments, etc. It will also automatically enter the record of the payment against your child's entry on our school database. An email is sent to parents with all outstanding payments automatically listed. We are confident that the system will benefit both parents and the school in monitoring and recording payments.
Extras Fee 2014/2015
(e.g. Book Rental/Photocopying/Pupil Insurance/IT/Stationery/Visual Art)
Thank you to everyone who paid their Extras Fee for the 2014/2015 School Year. Please note that if you have paid online through our website, you must send a copy of the receipt to your eldest child’s teacher to ensure that you are marked as paid on our database. If you have not yet paid the fee (€65 per child), an email was sent to with the link to our new method of payment. This is our preferred method of Payment for this and all future school payments. All payments for the 2013/2014 year must be paid before payment for 2014/2015 academic school year.
Punctuality
It is imperative that all children are punctual in the morning. The 20 minutes between 08.30am and 08.50am is a very important time in the school day. This is when the younger children have activity time or structured play. It is also a time when teachers get to correct homework or hear children’s reading.
Staff Car Park
Parents are asked not to park in the Staff Car Park between 8.10am and 2.30pm, the only exception being parents collecting disabled or injured children. We would be grateful if you could also inform anyone who may be collecting your child/children on your behalf of this procedure. If you are returning to the school to drop off forgotten lunches, schoolbags, etc. during the school day, we would ask that you park in the bus stop area and enter via the Pedestrian Gate. (Please close gates after you leave). Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Maths Week 2014
Maths Week runs from 11 -19 October. This year, we are running a competition for all classes. Children should put on their “maths eyes” and look in a new way at their surroundings, take a photograph and put it and some questions about the photograph on to an A4 page. (Please make sure to put your full name and class teacher on the back of the page!) Entries should be placed in the competition box, outside Ms Meeley’s room, Green Room 5. All entrants will be given one raffle ticket per photograph entered in the competition for cinema tickets.

Tesco Bag Packing
Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped pack bags at Tesco’s last Saturday. As a result of your fantastic effort, we raised a tremendous €1178 which will go towards the school book scheme. Well done!
Reminder re dismounting bicycles, etc
In the interest of everyone’s safety, all cyclists (pupils, staff, parents & siblings) should dismount from their bicycles at the main gates of the school. For safety reasons, we would ask that you do not allow your children to use scooters, rollerblades or Heelys on school grounds.
Procedure for entering the school each morning
Children should not arrive before the gates are opened at 8.20am approximately. School doors open at 8.30am.
All children (except for Junior Infants at the start of the school year) line up each morning when the bell goes and are taken to their classroom by teachers. Infant Classes and First Class line up on the staffroom side of the building. Second to Sixth Class children line up at their designated class line on the basketball court side of the school. Doors will be closed once the classes have left the yard.
Children who arrive late for line-up in the morning (between 8.30 and 8.50am) should enter through the Carpenterstown Door only. Please remind your children of this procedure.
Children who arrive later than 8.50am must enter through reception. Their names are entered in the “late book”.
Children may not enter the school building until 08.30am. Parents are responsible for the welfare of their children until the school’s duty of care begins at 8.30 am. On wet mornings please time your arrival for
8.30 – 8.40am.
All enquiries re Extra Curricular Activities should be directed to the activity organiser (see contact numbers on our website). Where the activity is organised by a staff member, please email info@stpatricksns.ie
