Easter Break
The children will finish school at 11.30am on Wednesday 16 March. The school will remain closed from Thursday 17 March to Friday 01 April inclusive and will reopen on Monday 04 April.
Proclamation Day – Celebrations in St Patrick’s N.S. on Tuesday 15 March 2016
The children will be participating in a wide range of activities to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising on Tuesday 15 March.
The activities include: Flag Raising, Music, Dancing, Displays (including Tenement Houses, Kilmainham, Women of 1916), Drama, Art, Dressing Up, I.T. and optional Food Tasting (which will include Pork). Can you please instruct your child not to take part in the Food Tasking if they have a dietary restriction?
Recording the activities of Proclamation Day is important for the school archives and as a teaching resource in the future. Photographs of the activities will be taken and displayed around the school building and on the school website. Can you please inform the class teacherif you do not wish your child to be included in photographs?
Parents are invited to join our celebrations between 1.10pm and 3.10pm by visiting displays/projects in the hall.
Third Class Art Exhibition
The Third Class Art exhibition (middle floor) will also be open to parents on Tuesday 15 March between 2.30pm and 3.10pm. Entry is via the Blanchardstown Door and Exit via the Carpenterstown Door.
Ballet Ireland
Our first class pupils are participating in a programme of workshops in collaboration with Ballet Ireland’s outreach programme for National Schools. The final sessions are on Monday 14 March in the school hall. First Class Parents are welcome to attend and should enter via the Diswellstown (Tigers) Door only.

Diswellstown Community & Recreation Centre and Local Community Activities
CHFC Easter Camp
CHFC Easter Camp takes place from 21 – 25 March inclusive in Tir na nÓg. Nursery price is €30 per child from 10am to 12noon (Born 2010 and 2011). Standard price is €50 per child from 10am to 2pm. All attendees should bring wet gear, packed lunch & drink.
Applications will be taken every Saturday at the club shop during the Nursery up until the Saturday before the first day of camp or you can text Lisa 086 1022296 or email lisakiernan1@gmail.com to book places (name & age required)
Matilda’s Miles
Local baby, Matilda, died at 8 months old from a congenital heart condition. Matilda’s Miles is a three mile family walk in memory of Matilda and to support of The Children’s Heart Centre, Crumlin Hospital. It takes place on Saturday 02 April at 11am.
