Cumann na mBunscol Athletics Championships at Santry

Another great day at Santry yesterday  - congratulations to all sprint and relay runners who performed excellently in their events. In a field of very tough competition all our runners gave their best and showed true sportsmanship. Despite a few of our runners narrowly missing out on medals there were some outstanding performances and overall it was a most enjoyable experience for all. See full results for our athletics team below.

“My experience in Santry was really fun and I really liked cheering on people and other people cheering for me. I liked when we all took the Dab picture together up on the hill.”  Aisling O'Grady 4th

“Yesterday was a great day. It was a great day to share with my team. It was also fun to be up on the podium.” Aoife Brown 4th

Return of running kits

All athletes who have finished with their running kits should return them to school asap. Your child's kit should be placed in a bag (paper bag is fine) with the child's name clearly written on it, as all kits must be signed back in. Kits will be collected daily from the classrooms.

Road to Croker

Last Thursday the boys hurling team played in their Cumann na mBunscoil semi-final against Scoil Treasa in the Ballyboden St. Endas pitches. We started brightly getting a few points early on. After 10min we were up by 7 points. A great goal from one of our full forwards gave us a great lead and we started to gain confidence to push forward. At half time we were leading 1-12 to 0-0. in the second both teams showed their determination to get to Croke Park. We won a few frees and started to gain momentum. We saw the game out and won by 1-20 to 2-0.  We are delighted with our performances and now we are looking forward to Croke Park on the 20th or 21st of June. We would like to thank the time and effort that our two coaches Mr Thynne and Mr. MacConamha have put in for our team.

Michael Ryan, Neil Hogan, Darragh O’Connell, Ryan McCormack.
