Staff Meeting
A Staff Meeting will take place on Monday 12 November. All children will therefore go home at 12.00noon.

Christmas Fair
The Parents Association are running a Christmas Fair in the school on Sunday 02 December. We believe Santa will be making an appearance. More details are attached.

Sponsored Walk
It's never too late to send in Sponsored Walk money! So if you have not yet sent it in, please drop it into the main office as soon as possible. A sincere thank you to all who supported this event.

New Parent Representatives - Board Of Management
Following the recent election, we are delighted to announce that Adrienne O'Sullivan & Robert Antal were elected as Parent Representatives for the new term of the Board, beginning on 1st December.

Meet & Greet Mornings
We are holding a series of informal meetings at 08.40am with the parents of each class group. The meetings will take place in the Tigers Room on the dates listed below. We request that you enter the school only via the Diswellstown Door (Tigers Entrance) and up the blue stairs rather than through the main school entrance.

Poster Competition - sponsored by Parents Association
We have had a great response to our Road Safety Poster Competition. The closing date has been extended to Wednesday 14 November.

Irish Dancing
Congratulations to Kendra Walsh from Ms. Quinn's 2nd class, who recently won the trophy dance for her grade for Irish Dancing under 7 in the Leinster Championships in the National Basketball Arena. Kendra dances for the Downey Lanigan Academy of Irish Dance.

Science Week
Next week is Science Week. Several events have been planned. One of these is a display of experiments, which will take place on Wednesday 14 November in the Stage Area of the PE Hall. Parents are welcome to visit it between 1.10 and 2.10pm.

"Clothes from around the World" Display
There are two artists working with the children during this term under the "Percent for Art" scheme. The theme for the Second Class workshop is "The Clothes We Wear". In conjunction with this theme, there will be a display of "Clothes from around the World" on Wednesday 14 November. The display will be in the main reception area of the school and parents are welcome to view it at dropping off and collection times.

Official School Photographs
"Aisling Photography" will take the official school photographs in the school on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 November. Order forms were distributed to the classes yesterday and should be returned, together with payment, to your child's class teacher by Tuesday 13 November.

Green Schools
WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment) Ireland is currently involved in a Schools Collection Programme. A representative visited the school on Wednesday and gave a very good presentation to the Third Class children about electrical recycling.
You may have noticed a large blue bin at the front of the school beside the pedestrian gate. Next Wednesday we will have an Electrical Recycling Day.
If you have any small electrical items that are no longer of use, please bring them to school on Wednesday and place them directly into the blue bin. Most items should be quite small such as hair-dryers, walkmans, electric toothbrushes, food mixers etc NO FRIDGES, WASHING MACHINES, TVS PLEASE!
