Sam Maguire visit

We had hoped to have the Brenda Martin cup accompanying Sam Maguire but this couldn't be arranged at this time, though we endeavour to have it visit in the New Year.

Don’t be mean behind your screen

On Monday Paula from ‘Don’t be Mean Behind the Screen’ came to do a workshop with us.  She spoke to us about internet safety and how to use social media correctly. We discussed why it is important to have rules in both the real and virtual world.  Even though we have heard a lot of what she had to say before, she really made us think.  She was really funny but everything she said reminded us to use social media safely.  She had a five finger rule about with whom we should be ‘virtual friends’.  She told us not to post anything on our social media unless we would be happy to show our grannies it!  Ms C O’Reilly’s Class

A talk for parents took place last night.  The feedback received was excellent.  However, it was very poorly attended.

Reminders

Letters of Attendance

We would ask that if you require Letters of Attendance for Child Benefit/Travel/Visa purposes for your child/children, that you give the office as much advance notice as possible. Please email your request to info@stpatricksns.ie stating the purpose of the letter. If it is for travel/visa request purposes, please advise date of travel so that the letter can be dated within a week of travel.

Dropping in lunches, bags, homework etc.

With the volume of pupils in the school, it is vital that, if you are dropping in any of your child’s forgotten belongings e.g. lunches, bags, homework, etc., that they are CLEARLY MARKED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME AND THEIR CLASS TEACHER.

Extra-Curricular Activities

If your child takes part in a number of Extra-Curricular activities, it might be useful to write the activities into his/her school journal on the appropriate days.  This will help him/her remember the activity and, if there is any confusion, the teacher can help by checking the journal.

Information regarding extra-curricular activities can be found on the website www.stpatricksns.ie under archive newsletters.
