How Do We Relax? By Rebecca Carson 1st Class
Ms. Quinn's class relax every Friday by doing meditation with teddies. We bring in teddies to do the relaxation. We put the teddies on our tummies and get them asleep. We do it with nice music. We lie down on the ground with cushions. This meditation is fun and relaxing. We like doing it with teddies because it's nice doing it with our own things.

Our Wildlife Garden
In May, Mairéad Stack gave all the boys and girls a talk about the wildlife garden we are in the process of making. Ms O’Callaghan’s 3rd Class came up with the official name … Bugington Palace. Our garden is on a slope so solitary bees can burrow in it. The box to put materials in to fill the bug hotel with will be under the canopy again tomorrow. By Caoimhe Halley, Jack Durr, Peter Brennan and Fabian Berisha.

Mandala Stones for Pieta House
Pupils from Mr. Heneghan's 4th Class recently participated in a fundraising project in aid of Pieta House. We sold mandala stones to raise the money. Mandala stones are flat, circular painted stones that are said to have healing properties.
Before we painted the stones, we took orders to see how many we would need to paint. We ordered Scottish beach pebbles from a garden centre. We got roughly 800 beach pebbles and sold about 600 decorated mandala stones. We used the tips of paintbrushes to paint the stones in colourful, circular patterns; the mandala way. While most children were painting the stones, the rest of the children were designing logos for our mini company; mandala inc.
When we finished painting the stones, we put them in a bag with two positive mantras. We then delivered the stones to the people who had ordered them.
On Thursday 11th April, we were delighted to welcome Ms. Deirdre Hayden from Pieta House to our school and present her with a cheque for 2000Euro. We would like to thank all who helped in making this project such a huge success.

Huge congratulations to all who represented the school in track and field events in Morton Stadium in Santry over the last two weeks. The boys and girls did really well individually and as part of the relay teams. Well done to all of the children who gave 100%. It was an added bonus to come back to the school with lots of silverware!
Junior Infant Sports Day
Parents/Grandparents are all invited to attend the Junior Infant Sports Day which will take place on Wednesday June 15th from 9.00-10.00am in the main yard adjacent to the junior infant play area to the rear of the school.
The children have been placed on teams of approximately ten. They will participate in twelve activities in a circuit. Please note that you cannot take photographs of children other than your own without their parents’ permission.
The activity zone will be sectioned off. We would appeal to parents to ensure that all spectators remain off the activity area so that the children participating are not distracted. For health and safety reasons, please do not allow toddlers to enter the activity area. Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate the attendance of siblings from St.Patrick’s attending the Sports Day.
In the event that we need to postpone the sports day we hope to run it on Thursday June 16th 9.00-10.00am.
We hope the sun shines and the children enjoy their first sports day at Saint Patrick’s.

St Andrew’s NS, St Oliver Plunkett’s, Balrothery, St Patrick’s Diswellstown and Realt Na Mara Skerries. It was the first cricket game for many of our girls, despite that, thanks to some great batting, catches and wickets we managed to win 2 out of 3 matches! We all enjoyed the day.
