Christmas Holidays

The school closes on Friday 20 December, at 11.30am

for the Christmas Holidays.

For Health & Safety reasons, it is necessary to stagger the exit times. Children from the ground floor will exit the building first. The remaining children will follow.

The school will reopen on Monday 06 January 2020 at 08.30am.

Sick Children at School

Please do not send sick children to school for the following reasons:

  • Children are unable to cope with the demands of school when they are unwell.
  • Infection spreads rapidly in the confinement of the classroom.
  • There is no indoor supervision for sick children during breaktimes.

Leaving School Early

The teacher should be notified in advance if possible, should a child need to be collected early.  Pupils who leave before the end of the school day, must be signed out at Reception by a parent/guardian

If you need to collect your child during the school day, please do not do so during break times as the children are in the school yard at this time.

Junior Infants – 2nd Class breaktimes are 10.15-10.25am and 11.35-12.05pm.

3rd to 6th Class breaktimes are 10.35-10.45 and 12.15-12.45pm.

If an emergency situation arises, please ring the office before break time and we will arrange to have your child at Reception for collection.  However, please note Reception is closed from 12.15-12.45pm daily.

Your cooperation in this matter would be very much appreciated.

We celebrate festivals such as Halloween, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter as part of the overall school curriculum. However, we discourage the practice of exchanging cards and/or gifts in school and Secret Santa. Those who do not receive cards/presents and those who may not celebrate some of the festivals can feel upset and isolated.

No Presents Please

The staff at St Patrick’s do not expect presents at Christmas time. You may wish to make a donation to St Vincent de Paul or St Francis Dublin 15 Hospice instead.
