Junior Infants September 2008
Applications Forms for Enrolment for Junior Infants (September 2008) will be available in St Patrick's N.S. and St Mochta's N.S. from Monday 21 January 2008.
Registration will take place in both schools on the following dates:
Monday 18 February 10.00am - 12.00noon & 7.00pm-9.00pm
uesday 19 February 10.00am - 12.00noon
Wednesday 20 February 10.00am - 12.00noon.

Sick Children at School
It is not necessary to telephone the school if your child is sick. Absence due to illness should be advised in writing to the class teacher on your child's return, either by a note or in their homework journal.
As per page 19 of the School Booklet: "Please do not send sick children to school for the following reasons:

  • They are unable to cope with the demands of school when they are unwell.

  • All break-time supervision is concentrated entirely on the yard for safety reasons.

  • Infection spreads rapidly in the confinement of the classroom.

First Holy Communion Children
There will be a Communion meeting for the parents of children preparing for First Penance and Communion. The meeting will take place on St Mochta's School Hall at 8pm this Tuesday 22 January.

Parent/Teacher Meetings
Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place on 05 February. In line with Department procedure, First to Fifth Classes will finish school at 1.55pm on that day. While every effort was made to accommodate siblings on 05 February, this has not been possible due to the size of the school population. Timetables will be issued early next week. If you have not been offered a slot on the timetable, please do not worry. The class teacher will be in touch to arrange a meeting on an alternative date.

Current Fifth Class Children
As per Castleknock Community College's Website, the Open Evening for parents of prospective First Year students September 2009 will take place from 7.00pm-9.00pm on Wednesday 30 January in CCC.

Intercultural Training
A free course sponsored by the Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform and facilitated by Partners Training for Transformation, will run from 7.00pm-9.00pm for 10 weeks on Mondays in Castleknock Community College commencing 28 January. This courses aims to help and support people to build intercultural relationships and communities and is open to all parents. Enrolment nights are Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 January 7.00pm-9.00pm. More details are available on the Parent Information Notice Board.

RSE Course
The National Parents Council (Primary), in conjunction with the Crisis Pregnancy Agency offer an RSE Course for parents. The purpose of the course is to help parents have a better knowledge of relationship and sexuality education, so that they can talk to their children and foster their children's self esteem and decision making skills in this important area of their lives. Our Parent's Association Committee is organising the above course in the school. The course will comprise of six 2½ hr evening sessions (run over six weeks). The fee for this course is €10 and the minimum number of participants is 10, the maximum number of participants is 15. The NPC will advise the date of the course, (likely to be towards the end of January), when they receive our application.
