Castleknock College (Boys only)
An Open Night for parents of prospective First Year students for September 2009 will take place in Castleknock College on Thursday 24 April from 7.00pm-9.00pm. This open evening is for parents only. An open day for boys will be held in early June and parents will be advised separately about this. The closing date for applications for September 2009 is 31 May 2008.
Access to Classrooms After Hours
With the exception of those attending Extra Curricular Activities, children are not permitted to re-enter the classroom after 2.10pm. If in an absolute emergency (forgotten books and general belongings is not an emergency!) a child needs to gain access to his/her classroom outside school hours, the following procedure must be followed:
• He/She must speak to either Brendan or Graham who will accompany him/her to the classroom.
• An adult must also accompany the child.
All school personnel have been made aware of this procedure and have been asked to ensure it is followed. This procedure has been put in place to prevent further loss or damage to school property.
Footwear
Children should always tracksuits and runners on their PE Days. However, with the possibility (and hope) of finer weather approaching, it is likely that outdoor athletic activities e.g. running, may be part of the school day from now until June. It is important, therefore, that children have access to suitable footwear on all school days.
"Sport for All" Fun Days
"Sport for All Fun Days" will take place (weather permitting) as follows:
22 April | 23 April | 24 April |
10.45-11.45 Senior Infants | 10.45-11.45 Junior Infants | First -Fifth Class - All Day |
Parents are welcome to come along on Tuesday 22 April and Wednesday 23 April. However, for Health & Safety reasons, we cannot facilitate spectators on Thursday 24 April.
Dublin Youth Orchestra (DYO)
Congratulations to Blaithnaid Carroll (4th class) on recently getting a place in the Junior Orchestra of the DYO. We wish her every success.
Collections during Break time
If you need to collect your child during the school day, please do not do so during playtime from 10.20-10.30am and during lunchtime from 12.00-12.30pm as the office is closed and there is no access to the Sign Out Book. This procedure is in place for the protection of our pupils. Your cooperation in this matter would be very much appreciated.
Travelling to School Survey
Some children in 5th class will be carrying out a Transport Survey in the senior classes (3rd - 5th) over the coming weeks. The idea behind it is to encourage as many children as possible to walk, cycle, use scooters. We welcome any support you can give.
