Attention 1st & 3rd class parents - Reception for First Holy Communions
Thank you to those parents from the above classes, who have volunteered to help on the 10th and 17th May at the First Holy Communion Receptions. However, help is still urgently needed at the reception for the 10th May at 12.30pm. Please phone/text Marie McCarthy at 087 9935551, if you can help.

Choir
The following classes will be singing at the First Holy Communions together with members of the school choir:
10.00am Saturday 10 May Ms Barrin's Class for Ms O'Malley's Class
12.00pm Saturday 10 May Ms Weir's Class for Ms Quinn's Class
10.00am Saturday 17 May Mr Walsh's Class for Ms Parker's Class.

Green Schools - Walking Bus
We are disappointed to report that only two people registered their interest in the Walking Bus. This means we will be unable to proceed with it.

Jewellery
Wearing jewellery poses a safety risk at school because of the active nature of the school day. It is therefore necessary for us to request that children do not wear earrings (other than studs), necklaces, bracelets and rings in school. Watches are acceptable but we would ask that they be removed during PE classes.

Bicycles/Scooters
We must again request that everybody dismounts at the outer school gates (junction of Diswellstown and Carpenterstown Road). No one is permitted to cycle or scooter on school grounds. This request extends to parents and younger siblings also and is made in the interest of safety. Please also note that Heelys and Rollerblades are strictly prohibited on school grounds.

Dog Owners
Following concern from some parents, we would ask that you discourage any child from petting your dog.

Lost Property
We have a huge quantity of lost property in the Lost Property Area Box inside the Blanchardstown Door of the school. Items include uniform jumpers, cardigans, tracksuit tops and even coats! If your child is missing anything, please pop in at drop off time (08.30 - 08.50am) and take a look. Any unclaimed items will be disposed of at the end of the month.

GAA Training
Thursday afternoon GAA training will take place, weather permitting, in Tir na nOg Park. Children should make sure they have their football gear and boots with them every Thursday.

5th Annual St. Patrick's National School Golf Classic
We are delighted to announce the fifth annual St. Patrick's National School Golf Classic, run by the Parents Association as part of the ongoing fund raising for our School. We would like to encourage everyone to participate, submit a team from work, or sponsor a hole or a tee for the day. All of our sponsors will have their name displayed on a Hole or Tee and be acknowledged in the school newsletter. The sponsorship for a hole or tee is only €100. It will take place on Tuesday 27th May 2007 at Ashbourne Golf Club. The first tee is booked from 12.30pm. It will be a 4-ball scramble competition and the entry fee for each team (4 people per team) is €400 or €100 per person. The entry fee will include your green fee and golf grill. The prize giving will be held in the clubhouse later that evening. This is the biggest annual fundraising venture undertaken by the Parents Association. We hope that as many parents and friends as possible will participate. A timesheet will be held in St. Patrick's School. Contact details:

Extra Curricular Activities
Swimming

Please note there will be no swimming on Monday 05 May as it is a Bank Holiday.

A reminder this week from the Green School Committee:
Before putting something in the black bin (and sending it to landfill), ask yourself, "Can it be reused or recycled?".
