Parent Volunteers
A huge thanks to all the parents who volunteered to help during this school year. Some of the projects included library, tea/coffee for class meetings, milk money, counting tokens, book fair, Per Cent for Art project, receptions for Holy Communion classes, Intercultural Committee and Healthy Eating Committee. A list seeking parent volunteers for the school year 2008-2009 will be posted on the Parent Information Notice Board in September.
Carbon Footprint Study
“On Tuesday 24 June, a reception was held to launch the Carbon Footprint Study. The Green Schools Committee and Student Council prepared a breakfast buffet for our guests. After the buffet, Mr Walsh’s brother John Walsh, presented St Patrick’s Carbon Footprint and was extremely pleased with his findings.” Beth Hughes – 3rd Class (Green Schools Committee)
“John Walsh read out our Carbon Footprint and gave us tips on how to reduce it even more. Local politicians Joan Burton, Roderic O’Gorman and Mags Murray joined us as well as organisations such as the Parents Association, Change.ie, An Taisce and SEI. It was a great success and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.” Molly Murphy-O’Kane – 4th Class (Student Council)
Camogie
“On Tuesday 24 June, we played a Camogie Blitz. We would like to thank Brendan for all his help and everybody for their support. We had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves.” Mairead McCarthy & Goda Nyrkovaite – 2nd Class
GAA Blitz
“We played a GAA Blitz on Wednesday 25 June in Tir na nOg Park against Scoil Thomais, Scoil Oilibhéir and St Patrick’s ‘A’ Team. Our ‘B’ Team came in fifth place and the ‘A’ Team came third. Everybody had a good day and we all won medals.” Tristan Sherry & Kyle Sheridan – 4th Class
Moving House/Leaving St Patrick’s?
If you are moving house and your child will not be returning to St Patrick’s in the new school year, it is vital that you make contact with the class teacher or the Main Office. It will be necessary for you to complete a Transfer Form. We have a large number of children on waiting lists for all classes and we would like to be able to contact these parents as soon as possible.
School Reports
School Reports and details of class teachers will be sent out during the Summer Break.
