Eid Mubarak
This week marked the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan for Muslims around the world. We would like to wish Eid Mubarak to all the children in our school (and their families) who are celebrating Eid this weekend.

Parents Preparation Meeting
A meeting for parents of 2nd Class Children who will be preparing to receive First Holy Communion will take place in St Mochta’s Parish Centre on October 7th 2008 at 8pm. Parents are requested to present a Baptismal Certificate for their child prior to this meeting. Please note your child cannot be formally enrolled for First Holy Communion until their Baptismal Certificate is received.  The certificate should be sent into your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
The Enrolment ceremony for children of St Patrick’s School will take place in St Mochta’s Church on 16th October 2008 at 7 pm and not 8pm as was in last week’s newsletter.

Dropping in lunches, bags, homework etc.
It would be greatly appreciated that if you are dropping in any of your child’s forgotten belongings e.g. lunches, bags, homework, etc., that they are clearly marked with your child’s name and their class teacher.

Wanted – Parent Helpers
As the number of pupils in the school is increasing at such a rapid rate, we anticipate an ongoing need for “helping hands”. If you are available and would like to help, please leave your details on the sheet on the Parents Information Notice Board inside the main door of the school.

Old Hallowe’en Costumes
Parents are kindly asked to think about donating to the school any old Hallowe’en costumes that your child has outgrown. These would be greatly appreciated for Drama education.

Sponsored Walk
The annual School sponsored walk will take place on Sunday 19th October at 3pm. This event, arranged by the Parents Association, is a very important fundraising event for the school and generally a great day. The walk will start at the Papal Cross in the Phoenix Park, walking around the American Ambassador's residence and ending on return to the Car Park. Further details and sponsorship cards will be handed out to children in the next couple of weeks.

Parents Association AGM – Change of Date & Time
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of St Patrick’s N.S. Parents Association will take place on Tuesday 14 October at 7.45pm. Please note this is a change of time and date from the letter which was distributed last week.

Christmas Fair
Volunteers are needed in order to successfully run the Parents Association Christmas Fair 2008. Please email christmasfair@iol.ie or text 086 8352920 if you are interested in helping.

Camogie Blitz
“Some Third and Fourth Class girls played a Camogie Blitz on Monday 29 sin the PE Hall. The opposition team was St Francis Xavier’s N.S. There were four matches but one finished early because of a Fire Drill! We won two of the matches. We all had a brilliant time. Thank you to Brendan and Ailish for helping us prepare for the Blitz.” Chloe & Fionnuala – Fourth Class
