Parents Association Annual Sponsored Walk
Your child should have received a Sponsorship Form for the Parents Association Annual Sponsored Walk, which will take place on Sunday 22 October. The walk will commence at 2.30pm from the Papal Cross Car Park in the Phoenix Park. Last year's Walk raised over €8,000 which has been put to good use for the benefit of the children in the school.
Parents Association AGM
The Annual General Meeting of St Patrick's N.S. Parents Association will take place on Thursday 26 October at 8.30pm in Fingal Room 1 (Upstairs Library/Tigers Room). All Parents are invited to attend the AGM and anyone interested in becoming involved in the Association will be most welcome. Entry to the building will be via the Fingal Entrance and not the main school entrance.
A letter from Robert Antal, the Chairperson of the Parents Association, has also been given to your child today explaining the role of the Parents Association and inviting you to attend the AGM. Please take a moment to read this letter.
Welcome Mass for Fr John
Bishop Ray Field will officially welcome Fr. John as the new Parish Priest of St. Mochta's on Saturday 11 November at 7pm Mass. The parish is inviting all parishioners to the formal welcome of Fr. John to the Parish. The celebration will be followed by a reception in St. Mochta's National School.
Hand Towels
Apart from the expense of providing paper towels for all 524 children in the school, the extra waste created from paper towels is contrary to the principles of the Green Schools Initiative. Therefore, in our campaign for Green Flag status, we urge you to support us by providing your child with a hand towel/facecloth and encouraging him/her to use it.
Yard Markings
We would like to thank Nationwide Controlled Parking Systems (NCPS) and particularly David Murphy for providing us with our new Yard Markings. The work was carried out on Saturday 14 October. There was great excitement when the children went out to yard on Monday and the activities are proving very popular!
Labelling of School Uniform
It is important that all items of your child's school uniform be clearly labelled, particularly cardigans, jumpers and coats. It is impossible of class teachers to establish ownership of jumpers, cardigans and sweatshirts if the child's name is not on them. For your information and convenience, name labels can be purchased from Marks & Spencer's and also from www.mynametags.ie (order forms are available in main reception area).
Lost Property
We have a large selection of items in our lost property box, ranging from school jumpers to coats! All these items will be on display in the stage area of the PE Hall on Monday, 23 October from 08.30am to 2.30pm. If your child is missing any item, please take a moment to have a quick look. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity.
Concerned Parents
We have been contacted by a number of concerned parents living in the locality about children cycling/scootering through local housing estates, oblivious to the dangers of cars reversing out of their driveways. We would ask that you reinforce the relevant Rules of the Road with your child and be vigilant in your supervision of your children en route to and from school. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
