Carol Service - Porterstown Church
This year the Parish carol service will be celebrated on Sunday 21st Dec. at 4.00pm. This offers the parish a great opportunity just to take a step back from all the hectic rushing around we do at Christmas time. It will help us to remember to place Jesus Christ at the centre of all our preparations. It will be a lovely celebration for the entire parish. The guest choir this year will be the children's choir from St. Mocha's National School.
Carol Service
There will be a short Carol Service on Tuesday 23 December at 11.30am outside the main entrance of the school. We would be delighted if you could come along and join in.
Choral Scholars
The Choral Scholars recorded two songs for a special SEASCAPES programme for Radio 1. It will be broadcast on Monday 22 December at 10.30pm. RTÉ camera crews were also at the recording so there is a very slight possibility of the children being on the news on 22 December also. I must stress that it being on television is not definite. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the children and their parents for their participation on the night and congratulate the Choral Scholars on their beautiful singing. Geraldine Meade

Christmas Food Appeal
A sincere "thank you" to everyone who contributed to our Christmas Food Appeal. We have had a tremendous response and have delivered items to the St Thomas Conference of the St Vincent de Paul for distribution of hampers to needy families in Blanchardstown.
Old 2008 Calendars
If you are thinking of throwing away your old 2008 calendar, you may be able to re-use and recycle it. Calendars with good pictures/photographs can be a useful teaching resource. Many calendars show scenes of places around the world (e.g. landscapes, cities, well known monuments, animals. Calendars showing places in other countries would be particularly useful. If you have a 2008 calendar which can be reused, please leave it with Andrea in the main office.
