Important Local Safety IssueIt has been confirmed by an Garda Síochána that an incident occurred last week whereby a male in a red car intimidated a girl who was walking to school alone. If your child is allowed to walk to/from school, it is important to remind him/her regularly of the importance of never talking to or approaching strangers/cars and of walking in pairs/groups rather than alone.  The Gardaí have made a specific recommendation that children of any age should not be allowed out alone after dark.

School Closed
The school will be closed for all children on Monday 16 March for a Department of Education & Science In-School Planning Day.

Empty Milk Cartons and other Food Waste
Unfortunately empty milk cartons cannot be recycled at school.  Children who get milk in school should always take home their empty milk cartons at the end of the day.  Other food waste such as plastic tubs, yoghurt cartons, etc should also be taken home.  All of these can then be rinsed out and recycled at home. - St Patrick's Green School Committee

ENFO Tour
"On Monday the 2nd of February our class went on a school tour to ENFO in town.  We had lots of fun.  First we went upstairs and played a few games.  Then we went down again and looked at the exhibition and did a quiz.  Before we went home, we got to pick two posters and a bag.  We had a great day!" Matthew - 5th Class

"On Monday, we met at Spar and took the bus to ENFO.  When we got there, a woman called Joanne showed us around the "Wetland Exhibition".  Wetlands are places like bogs and marshes.  Many species live in wetlands like frogs, birds and insects.  We all had a great time and learned loads too!" Alison - 5th Class
