Easter Holidays
Please note that the children will finish at 11.30am on Friday 03 April.
The school will be closed from Monday 06 to Friday 17 April inclusive and will reopen on Monday 20 April at 08.30am.

Concerns re Early Morning Drop Off
As you are aware, the school gates open between 08.20am and 08.30am. We would ask that children would arrive as close to 08.30am as possible. Some parents/guardians are dropping off children very early in the morning. The school authorities are concerned that this is not in the best interest of those children.

Safety
We would like to remind parents to regularly discuss safety awareness with their children especially in relation to when they are "out and about" without adult supervision. If your child is allowed to walk to/from school, please remind him/her of the importance of never talking to or approaching strangers/cars and of walking in pairs/groups rather than alone.

Accord Talks
Some parents raised concerns about teacher supervision at the Accord Talks. We wish to clarify that teachers have a duty of care for all class activities that take place during the school day. Therefore a member of the teaching staff has to be present for all workshops/talks facilitated by outside personnel.

Building Work - Two Classroom Extension
As you are aware the school will require extra classroom accommodation from September. The Dept. of Education and Science is financing a two classroom extension. Planning permission is in place and Weslin Construction has been appointed. Work will commence during the Easter holidays and will continue throughout the third term. It will be necessary to fence off a section on the north side of the grounds. Some adjustments will have to be made to the morning line up areas for Junior Infants, Senior Infants and Ms. Cusack's/Ms. O Callaghan's first classes. The children in these classes will practice the new line up arrangements prior to the Easter Holidays. It will not be necessary to adjust the line up areas for the other classes.

Trócaire Box Collection
Trócaire boxes can be returned either to the Parish Church or the school.

School Uniforms
If anybody has school uniforms/tracksuits in good condition that no longer fit their child and are willing to donate them to the school, please contact Andrea in the office.
