Photographs - First Holy Communion Classes
There is a change of procedure this year with regard to the ordering of photographs. Order forms will be given to the First Communion Classes, on behalf of the school photographer, Michael Bamsey. They should be brought back to school on either the 11th May (if your child's First Holy Communion is on the 9th May) or the 18th May (if your child's First Holy Communion is on the 16th May). The photographs will be taken on the 11th or 18th May respectively.
A Gala Concert at the Helix
"Our experience at the Helix was great fun! We went on stage at about 8.00pm and performed "The Circle of Life" with the Gospel Choir, the Concert choir and a number of soloists. We then sang "Cerf-volant", "Vois sur ton chemin" and "The Lonely Goatherd". Then the presenter, George Hook, came on and said a few words. They then brought on the Triple Crown and Grand Slam trophies, which Ireland won in the Six Nations Tournament. We then went offstage for a long wait and had a bit of craic backstage. At 10.30pm, we came back onstage to join the other choirs and soloists to sing "World in Union" and "Irelands Call", after clapping along to some songs sung by the Gospel Choir. After a long and exciting night of enjoyment, we arrived back at the school at 12.15!! Nobody felt the tiredness as we were so elated and excited from the whole experience." Chris & Rebekah - 6th Class
Labelling/Lost Property
The chances of returning lost property are greatly increased if items are clearly labelled with your child's name. There is a tremendous amount of lost property in the school ranging from hats and gloves to coats and uniform items. If your child is missing any item, please take a moment at drop off or collection time to check the Lost Property press inside the Blanchardstown Door.
Football Blitz
"On Friday 24 April, the girls gaelic team went over to Tir na nÓg to play a blitz against other schools. It was to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the GAA. It was our first girls GAA team for our school . We won two out of four matches. We all got medals. It was a great day and we all had a great time." Niamh, Molly, Megan & Katie - 5th Class
"The boys also went to the blitz but unfortunately lost two games by a point, one by five points and were well beaten in the last game. But after the blitz, everybody got a medal and then went back to school." Shane - 5th Class
Access to Classrooms After Hours
With the exception of those attending Extra Curricular Activities, children are not permitted to re-enter the classroom after 2.10pm. If in an absolute emergency (forgotten books and general belongings is not an emergency!) a child needs to gain access to his/her classroom outside school hours, the following procedure must be followed:
All school personnel have been made aware of this procedure and have been asked to ensure it is followed. This procedure has been put in place to prevent further loss or damage to school property.
